Germany, I’m home

So now I’m sitting here at my good old PC. I’m back to germany since early Thursday
morning but only now found the time to write something on my blog, so don’t be surprised. It didn’t take me three days to get from Spain to Germany .. although it almost felt like it :)

Btw, when I said I liked Barcelona better than Valencia, I meant as a city, not so much for the parties and all. Don’t get me wrong on this one :)

Anywho, I definitly need more holidays. A lot more. Spain was quite exhausting. Plus since I’m already back working again since Thursday 11 a.m. .. well, what can I say. Don’t ever do that. You know, like come back from your vacation and go straight to work. It’s not that cool. We’re pretty busy with many projects right now and I’ve been working almost 20 hours in the last two days. Though this is quite normal for me personally it still kind of sucks doing this just after the holidays. Actually it sucks a lot.
Ok then, enough bitching. Let’s get to the story telling part. What about Spain you might already have wondered. What did I do there? I’ll just go ahead and give you a day by day walk through:

Day 1, Wednesday: Arrival at Valencia Airport at about 1800. Marco came to pick us up and we immediatly went to his flat by bus. After arriving there there was only time for a quick shower and off we went for the first party. Actually it was more like a lot of drinking only, no such much of a party. We went to this small place were you could get Tappas for 50ct each and a liter of beer .. for .. I don’t quite remember. I only remember drinking and eating really really much and only paying like 15 bucks. In Germany we would probably have ended up with like 50 per person :)

Day 2, Thursday: Woke up sick, did some sight seeing to the harbor and the “Port America’s Cup” (or something like that, I don’t quite remember. Quite impressive though). I think that was about everything we did that day. I missed the party that night because I felt really sick and hit the sack at around 6 p.m. .. and slept for like 18 hours straight.

Day 3, Friday: Hmm .. what did we do that day .. there definitly was boozing in the evening, that I remember. But else I don’t seem to remember anything. If only I had photos. .. Oh hold on, right, we had drinks and food at Marco’s girlfriend’s (whom’s name just wont come to me right now .. I’ll update this soon;)) (Eva, thanks Marco ;) ) place. Quite a nice evening.

Day 4, Saturday: Played basketball with some friends which actually was quite fun. In the evening we went to a local concert (like in Spanish and all that) which I for one did really enjoy a lot (or was this on Friday and I’m mixing up days? I don’t remember .. this is why one should do a travelers diary of some sort .. ).

Day 5, Sunday: Did a biking trip to “El Saler” (a small town about 15km outside of Barcelona) and had Paella there. Though this was quite exhausting I really enjoyed it. In the evening we did not do much but play Fifa 07 on Marco’s PC. As expected I lost the tournament ;)

Day 6, Monday: Transfer from Valencia to Barcelona. We flew with Vueling which albeit being a very cheap airline actually is a very good one. The planes aren’t that big and fancy but the crew is very nice and you get on board music for free.
In Barcelona first action of business was to check into the amazing hostel we booked there (Central Centric Point at Paseig de Gracia 33) which I can really recommend to pretty much everyone who wants to stay in BCN. It’s not that expensive but still has got very high standard, friendly personal and a nice bar on the second floor. Which is where we spent the evening after visiting the harbor of Barcelona.

Day 7, Tuesday: Went to see the cathedral. Beer in the evening. The usual :)

Day 8, Wednesday: There wasn’t so much action. I already told you that out flight only left quite late so we went to .. erm .. I don’t remember the name, that garden where .. what’s-his-name Gaudi built some houses. I do really need a camera and a pen next time :)

So well. That’s about it. My brain is playing tricks on me at the moment. I’ll update this as soon as I start remembering. Stay tuned :)
